SBFYC2007 GUIDELINES
The following guidelines are affectionately known as
“BRO. BILL’S TOP TEN LIST”
1. DRESS CODE: Modest clothing must be worn while at camp. Guys and girls must dress so
that no undergarments are showing. (NOTE: This does not mean that undergarments are optional!)
Midriffs are not allowed.
Bro. Bill does not want to see your belly button, and rest assured you do not want to see his!
Modest casual clothes will be considered appropriate attire for the worship services and seminars.
This includes modest shorts. Please do not wear clothing with questionable logos, ads, etc. (i.e.,
Budweiser, satanic, suggestive etc.).
MODEST ONE-PIECE SWIMSUITS are required for girls (No high cuts or two pieces are allowed. If
that’s all you can find, be prepared to wear wind shorts & a dark-colored, “non-see thru” t-shirt over
your swimsuit). Guys are also expected to wear modest swimsuits (No Bikini style Speedos). When
traveling to and from the swimming area, please wear appropriate cover-ups or T-shirts.
2. DON’T BE FOOLISH: The following items and/or activities are not allowed at camp:
immoral materials, illegal substances, alcohol, tobacco, fire works, listening to and/or viewing
personal electronic devices, shaving cream battles, water balloon fights, ice fights, toothpaste
wars, pushing, shoving, throwing, (etc.) persons into swimming area while they have their street
clothing on, etc. (If in doubt about “etc.” be sure to ask first.)
3. OFF LIMITS: At no time will there be ANY male camper/ Adult Male Sponsor in any girls’
rooms, or ANY female camper/Adult Female Sponsor in any guys’ rooms. Mixed small group
devotions (boys and girls together) may be held upon request in classrooms or outdoors.
4. SAFETY: Use the “buddy system” when swimming. This means travel in groups of three
5. OFF CAMPUS: For everyone’s safety, all campers must stay on the camp premises UNLESS
ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT SPONSOR. IF A GROUP LEADER PLANS TO TAKE HIS/HER GROUP OFF
CAMPUS, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE CAMP PASTOR FIRST. NO OFF CAMPUS ACTIVITIES MAY BE
SCHEDULED DURING WORSHIP, SEMINAR, DEVOTIONS OR AFTER CURFEW.
6. BIBLE, BOOKLET, (NAME) BADGE, & BAND: Every camper/Adult Sponsor is
expected to come to the services & seminars with his/her Bible and Booklet, and wearing his/her
(Name) Badge and wristBand! (NOTE: The Name Badge must be worn as designated by the Camp
Pastor with the wearer’s name in plain view.) The wristBand must be worn at all times and may only
be removed after camp is concluded.
7. CURFEW: Will be strictly enforced. (This means BE IN YOUR ROOM by curfew, not on
your way to it!!) This includes Adult Sponsors unless you have made prior arrangements with the
Camp Pastor. To ensure everyone’s safety, Camp Security will make random room checks nightly.
8. RESPECT: Take care of the camp facility’s property and furniture, inasmuch as you will be
held personally responsible for and expected to pay for damages. At all times demonstrate a proper
respect and appreciation for the camp’s administrators, conference leadership, adult sponsors, and
one another.
9. NO PDA (Public Display of Affection) is allowed between unmarried couples while
at camp. A good rule of thumb to follow is, “Let me see daylight between you.”
10. PARTICIPATION & A GOOD ATTITUDE: When it’s time to work, work hard. When it’s time to play,
play hard. Pay attention to what time it is!
YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BRING:
1. Bible (This means both Old and New Testaments)
2. Pen or pencil & notebook
3. Sunscreen or tanning lotion
4. Insect repellent
5. Spending money (for snacks, souvenirs, and various off-premises activities)
6. LINENS AND TOWELS AND PILLOW: This means twin sheets at BOLIVAR; at Panama
City Beach, however, SOMETIMES THE ROOMS HAVE DOUBLE BEDS AND WE ARE UNABLE TO LET
EVERYONE KNOW IF THEY WILL HAVE A TWIN OR DOUBLE. PLEASE BRING SHEETS FOR DOUBLE
BEDS AND OR SLEEPING BAGS TO MAKE SURE THEY FIT YOUR BED).
NOTE: We are going to the Saved By Faith Youth Challenge (SBFYC 2007) to have a time of intense
Bible study and worship as well as a great time of fun and fellowship together. We want to do all of
this in a way that is pleasing to God and safe for everyone involved. Therefore, any person who
insists on violating camp guidelines will be sent home at his/her parents’ expense and at the
discretion of the camp leadership.
